We’ll start this story by stating upfront: do NOT try this at home (or anywhere else). Over the weekend, Luke Bryan took the stage at the Carolina Country Music Festival in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, when he did what many performers do: took a swig of a drink and passed it down to a fan up front for them to do the same. In this instance, Luke’s drink of choice was tequila, which was then sent down via security to a fan. What Luke probably thought would happen – that the bottle would be passed around while several fans took a drink – is not what happened once a fan named Randy got a hold of it. Instead of passing it around, Randy upended the whole bottle and drank it dry. You could see someone next to him reaching for it, but Randy was on a mission.
For Luke’s part, he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. As Randy chugged the bottle, it was featured on the big screen as the crowd cheered. Luke walked up to the front of the stage, watching. “Do you typically drink a whole bottle of tequila?…Are you gonna be OK?” he asked. He eventually signed the empty bottle for the man.
To answer the question of whether or not Randy would be OK…he was not. A fan-shot video showed him being carried out of the concert in a wheelchair.
