Lainey Wilson is showing a softer, more romantic side with her new single, “Phone, Keys, Wallet,” a song inspired by finding love amid life’s chaos. Written during the final leg of her Whirlwind World Tour, the track reflects Wilson’s journey of balancing her fiercely independent spirit with the comfort of having someone she can rely on.

“I feel like a tornado with boots on half the time,” Wilson said. “This song is really about finding somebody who’s okay with that chaos and chooses to love you through it anyway.”

The song also features a notable collaboration with John Mayer, who plays guitar on the track. Mayer recorded his parts at Chaplin Studios in Los Angeles, adding a fresh sound that hints at a new musical chapter for Wilson.

The release comes on the heels of a milestone year for the country star, who married longtime boyfriend Devlin “Duck” Hodges on May 10 in Tennessee. Many fans are seeing “Phone, Keys, Wallet” as a reflection of that relationship, with lyrics that highlight the importance of having a steady partner who keeps you grounded.

“Phone, Keys, Wallet” follows Wilson’s recent releases “Younger You” with Miley Cyrus and “Can’t Sit Still.” The reigning country star is also set to headline CMA Fest at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium.
