Congratulations to Kane Brown and Lauren Alaina…their duet “What Ifs” has just gone diamond! It’s the second single to do so for Kane (following “Heaven”), and the first for Lauren, so Kane wanted to call her and tell her the good news. In a Facetime call, Kane told her, “We’ve been friends since seventh grade…this is for both of us ’cause guess what?” He pulled up a big diamond-certification plaque to show her. “Our song’s diamond! You got your first diamond single!” Since the call was pre-planned, at that moment Lauren was presented with a plaque as well, and she was speechless for a moment, then said, “I’m gonna cry!!” The two then made plans to get matching diamond tattoos on their hands. Diamond is the equivalent of being certified by the RIAA as 10X platinum, when a song or album has sold or streamed at least 10-million units. See Kane tell Lauren the good news below.
