Eric Church just released a brand-new single titled “On The Road” on September 10th. The reflective ballad marks his first new studio music release since 2025. Written by Church himself and produced by his longtime collaborator Jay Joyce, “On The Road” serves as a panoramic tribute to his decades-long career as a traveling musician. The lyrics trace his winding journey from dimly lit local bars to packed stadiums, referencing unforgettable career milestones such as performing at Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre and sharing the stage with country legends like Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, and George Strait. The song also includes deeply personal notes, addressing the tragedy of the Route 91 Harvest festival shooting. The release comes immediately after Church teased fans on social media with video clips of guitar cases and tour gear, which initially led many to believe a major new tour announcement was imminent. Though a full-scale upcoming tour has not been attached to the track yet, the single is now streaming across all major digital platforms.
