By Joe Malone Sep 26, 2024 | 10:51 AM

Keith Urban has outstanding music taste! The 56-year-old country singer stunned audiences by performing Sabrina Carpenter’s summer hit “Espresso” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote his new album “High” on Tuesday, Sept. 24.

Jimmy Fallon liked Urban’s cover talents, prompting the special performance. “One of the things I love about you is that you do cover songs,” he remarked of Urban’s Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande covers.

“How do you choose what cover songs you’ll do?” Fallon asked the singer. “I don’t know, just a well-written song,” Urban remarked, adding, “I mean, Taylor’s songs are all well-written, the bones are good … you can do any well-written song in almost any style.”

Fallon challenged Urban to perform Sabrina Carpenter’s hit “Espresso” on a banjo. After fine-tuning the instrument and trying out a few notes, Urban sang the lyrics of Carpenter’s viral pop hit while playing the banjo, and the audience applauded!

The rest of the interview featured some good stories from Keith’s childhood, his days in a heavy metal band and the awesome prank that he and Jimmy played on Keith’s wife, Nicole Kidman, at the Met Gala.

Later Keith took to the stage to perform a new song called “Chuck Taylors” from his new album High.
