Fans at Megan Moroney’s Cloud 9 Tour stop in Denver were left disappointed Tuesday night after the country star was forced to end her concert at Ball Arena just three songs into the show because of an illness.

An emotional Moroney returned to the stage to explain the situation, telling fans she was “extremely sick” and couldn’t continue.

“This is obviously the last thing that I ever wanted to do,” she told the crowd. “I thought I did everything to make myself better… I just can’t play this show tonight. I want to give you guys the show you deserve, and I’m probably going to go cry in my dressing room now.”

The audience responded with cheers and encouragement as the visibly emotional singer wiped away tears, calling the situation her “worst nightmare” before promising she’d make it up to everyone.

Shortly afterward, Ball Arena confirmed the concert had been canceled due to illness.

Hours later, Moroney shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram Stories, calling the decision “the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make.”

“I never ever will give you guys a show that is not 100%, and by song three I knew that I was not capable of giving that to you tonight,” she wrote. “I’m typing this as I’m quite literally bawling my eyes out in my dressing room, and it hurts me so much to disappoint you all.”

The 28-year-old singer also announced that the Denver concert has been rescheduled for August 27. All tickets purchased for Tuesday night’s show will be honored on the new date, while fans who can’t attend can receive refunds at their original point of purchase.

Moroney is currently in the middle of her Cloud 9 Tour and is scheduled to perform in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday before heading to Seattle on Sunday, though it’s unclear whether her illness will affect those upcoming shows.

Fans on social media were understandably disappointed but overwhelmingly supportive, with many wishing the “6 Months Later” singer a speedy recovery and saying they look forward to seeing her when she returns to Denver next month.
