Y106.5 - Today's Best Country

The news broke late on Tuesday Bill Cody had died. Bill Cody’s voice was known just not only on Nashville radio as he was the morning show for WSM. But he was also the voice many have heard when you are at the Grand Ole Opry.

Cody was in radio at an early age. For over 30 years he was the host of WSM Radio’s morning show, Coffee, Country & Cody. He was inducted into the Country Radio Hall of Fame, has a star on Music City Walk of Fame just to name a few. He was also the long-running announcer for the Grand Ole Opry. Those that have attended shows probably heard him announce.

Garth Brooks said, “There might be someone somewhere in the world who loved country music as much, but nobody loved country music more than Bill Cody.”

Last month Bill was in the critical condition and could only survey if he received heart and kidney transplants. He daughter asked for prayers in hopes that this would happen. Sadly he passed away at the age of 67.
