Jason Aldean and his wife Brittany Aldean have officially teamed up for their first-ever duet, more than a decade into their relationship. The collaboration, titled “Easier Gone,” was released Friday as part of three new tracks from Aldean’s forthcoming album, Songs About Us, due April 24.
Rather than a love song, “Easier Gone” is a power ballad centered on heartbreak, sparked by an unexpected run-in with an ex that reopens old wounds. The song explores how distance once made moving on feel easier, with both Jason and Brittany sharing vocals in the emotional chorus. Brittany enters early in the track and takes solo lines in the second verse, showcasing her vocal ability before joining Jason through the song’s powerful conclusion.
The duet marks a first for the couple, though Brittany pursued music before their marriage. She appeared on American Idol in 2012, reaching Hollywood Week. Jason has previously said they were open to collaborating if the right song came along. “Easier Gone,” written by Lady A’s Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood along with Jimmy Robbins and Josh Kerr, ultimately became that opportunity.
Following the release, Jason shared behind-the-scenes studio photos and teaser videos on Instagram, thanking fans who had long asked for a duet. Alongside “Easier Gone,” Aldean also released “Her Favorite Color” and “What’s a Little Heartache,” offering a deeper preview of the album’s emotional range.
Songs About Us is a 20-track project rooted in real-life experiences, according to Aldean, who describes it as reflecting “the highs, the lows, and everything in between.” The album rollout follows previously released tracks and his current radio single, “How Far Does a Goodbye Go.”
Aldean, the reigning ACM Artist of the Decade, continues to build on a career that includes 30 No. 1 country radio hits and 13 Top 10 albums. He is currently preparing to resume his Full Throttle World Tour, with U.S. dates beginning mid-January followed by international stops in New Zealand and Australia.
