In honor of the 65th celebration of Barbie and International Women’s Day on Friday Mattel announced that eight women will be made into Barbie. Mattel chooses women who have been considered “global role models.” This year they named country superstar Shania Twain as one of the women.

In a recent interview with USA Today Shania said she wasn’t given Barbies as a child. But that Barbie was “part of her dream world.” She also opened up to say that Barbie had a big impact on her life and helped her channel the power of femininity in her songs and writing.

Her doll is wearing the all-black outfit that she wore in her 1999 music video “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!” That song of course has become a girl-power anthem.

The other 7 women who also have been transformed into their own Barbie are Helen Mirren, Maria Gomez, Viola Davis, Nicole Fujita, Enissa Amani, Lila Aviles, and Kylie Minogue. You can read more here on each of the women and see more of the Barbie Role Model Collection.
