SCAM ALERT: Protect Your Business from Fraudulent Ad Sales

Heads up to our central and north central Wisconsin business community! We’ve received reports of a company reaching out to local businesses.

They are claiming to sell advertising packages on our radio stations. Let’s make this crystal clear: they are not affiliated with NRG Media in any way.

Unfortunately, this is a tactic we see from time to time. Scammers leverage the trust of established local media brands to trick business owners into paying for fake advertising.

They may sound professional and use our specific station names or logos to appear legitimate. They do not have permission to represent us or sell advertising on our stations.

If you are contacted by someone claiming to sell ads for an NRG Media station and something feels “off,” trust your gut.

Verify Before You Buy: Never share payment details or sensitive business information until you’ve confirmed the solicitor’s identity.

Know Your Team: When you advertise with us, you work directly with our in-house sales and content teams—the people you see at community events and hear on the air every day.
