Luke Combs shared the emotional story of his son’s unexpected early arrival while he was in Sydney, Australia.
His wife Nicole went into labor two and a half weeks early, and Luke received the news via text while he was asleep.
“I’ll never forget the craziest day, probably, in my life,” Luke said in a recent interview “One of the best and one of the worst days in my life at the same time.”
“It’s August 16,” he recalled. “I’m in Sydney, Australia, in a hotel room, and we’re on tour in Australia. I probably woke up at around 8:00 a.m. Australia time, and I had a text from my wife, and it said, ‘I’m so sorry, I really tried to not have the baby while you’re gone.'”
Despite being away, he was able to witness the birth of his son Beau Lee Combs through a video link.
The experience was both one of the best and worst days of his life, leading him to take a break from his tour to spend time with his family.
Luke was holding back tears when he said the following, “God, it was a hard day” He added, “But I was so lucky that a lot of my closest friends now work for me. And so I had a really great support system.” Combs’ two best pals, his personal assistant and guitar tech, are both dads. “I was able to be with them through that whole thing.”
