Fans of Elle King are growing concerned. After appearing to bring the party a little too early and a little too hard during “Nashville’s Big Bash” on New Year’s Eve, she has again gotten a bit too drunk before taking the stage at a big event.

Friday night, the Grand Ole Opry held their “Opry Goes Dolly” event to celebrate Dolly Parton‘s birthday. Elle King was one of the performers slated to appear, and the appearance did not go well. As Elle herself informed the stunned crowd, “I’m Elle King…I’m f***ing hammered.” She went on to use several profanities in front of a crowd that, safe to say, weren’t down with that under any circumstances, much less on a country legend’s birthday, at her birthday celebration, on one of the most hallowed stages in country music. It got worse; during her performance of Dolly’s “Marry Me,” she slurred her way through the song while screaming “I don’t give a s**t!” in the middle of the performance. And while fan backlash grew over the weekend, the Opry moved to get in front of the simmering controversy.

In a response to a disgusted Opry attendees comment on Twitter/X, the official Opry account responded,  “We deeply regret and apologize for the language that was used during last night’s second Opry performance.” No word as of last night from King herself.
