Parents the Target Spring Car Seat Trade-In Program is HERE! This is the perfect time to upgrade your child’s car seat while also saving yourself some money.
The event runs NOW through April 29th. This is a great chance for you to recycle an old, expired, or yes even a damaged car seat in return for a discount on a new car seat, booster or even other baby gear.
The program is very simple. Just bring on an old car seat or base into a nearby Target and drop it in the designated box inside the store. Then open your target app to scan the code on the box. If you need help you can talk to someone at guest services. Then open your wallet in the Target app and view “Extra offers” to find your coupon and even more contactless savings. Then click the green checkmark next to the offer and place your order online or scan your barcode at the register. By trading in your old seat or booster, you will get a coupon for 20% off a new seat, stroller, or select baby gear. So while you safely dispose of your old and used seat, you come home with something new at a discount. The coupon will be good for both in-store and online purchases through May 13th.
Just double-check your local store to make sure it’s participating before you lug that car seat in.
Target holds this program twice a year, once in the spring and then again in the fall. So if you are expecting or know someone that is but they don’t need anything at the moment they can look for this event to happen again in the fall of 2023. Also if you don’t have one to trade in at the moment but want to take advantage of the savings. Many times Facebook Marketplace or Garage sales post that they have free car seats for those that want to take them to Target to trade them in.
