This “throwback” clip is from 2019 when Morgan Wallen was just emerging as a big name in country music and Lainey Wilson was still making her way to becoming a country music star! The two of them were on tour together and in Denver at a relatively small venue called The Grizzly Rose. Morgan wallen would typically cover some popular rock songs during his set. It’s something he still occasionally does in concert. This night he covered Kings of Leon “Use Somebody”, Fall Out Boy “Sugar, We’re Goin Down” and Def Leppard’s “Pour Some Sugar On Me”. However, the crowd of only about 2000 people were treated to a duet between the two eventual country music super stars! They both do an amazing job on the covers and eventhough she was still pretty much unknown at the time, Lainey delivers an epic performance as does Morgan! The chemistry between the two singers is undeniably good and it makes one wonder how good a duet on a new song would be? They are both now big stars and have proven to be prolific songwriters since so the possibility of a collaboration leaves a lot to the imagination!
