Willie Nelson has a new book out today called “Me and Paul: The Untold Stories of a Fabled Friendship.” The book is about his relationship with his former drummer Paul English, who sadly passed away in 2020.
In the book, a surprise dark secret comes to light about Willie Nelson. He attempted suicide after being frustrated with life in Nashville and not making it just yet. He was depressed about seeing artists come and make it big while he was still trying to get his foot in the door.
In his new book, he gives more details on what was going on in his head that night. After that, he talks about the next day meeting with his friend Paul. The visit with his friend seemed to turn things around for him.
