Over the weekend I was able to see one of my best friends for the first time in 2 years. We have that type of friendship where we don’t talk or see each other every day. We can just pick up right where we left off the next time we are together. She is that person that knows the ins and outs.
Turns out a new study has found that there are 5 types of friendships each person needs in their life.
Close Friends – That person or people you have known for years. They have had your back and know everything about you. You can pick up right where you left off and can count on them anytime.
Lifelong Friends – They are much like your “Close Friends” but they are still learning about you. They are ones that are even more important to have in your life as we get older and our social circles tend to get smaller.
Friends Of Convenience – We have met through others, or are our neighbors, or even parents to our kids’ friends. They can help bring us happiness and support us.
Work Friends – Without them, at work, it would be tough to survive. They understand the struggles we deal with in our careers. They are also there to help celebrate the accomplishments.
Same-Chapter-Of-Life Friends – While it would be great to be at the same point in our lives with our Close Friends. There comes a time when one might be getting married or pregnant, and the other is still living a carefree lifestyle. Having friends that are going through or can help us navigate these life steps is important.
