Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are already deep into gardening season — and it sounds like their latest project might be bigger than they expected.
Stefani recently shared a glimpse into the couple’s Oklahoma property, revealing an ambitious new addition: a massive purple iris garden. In a video posted to social media, she joked about the scale of the undertaking, calling it one of those ideas that seemed great at first… until it wasn’t. The project even included custom plant tags with names like “Gwen and Blake’s Purple Iris” and “Family Pride,” which she said took an entire day to put in place.
The purple irises hold special meaning for the couple. In 2024, they released their duet “Purple Irises,” a song Stefani described as a reflection on planting hope and watching love grow — both literally and metaphorically. The pair, who married in July 2021 at a chapel on their Oklahoma property, have since embraced gardening as one of their favorite shared pastimes.
In fact, their love of gardening goes far beyond just irises. The couple also celebrated Easter surrounded by blooms, planting daffodils at Shelton’s sprawling 10 Point Ranch in Tishomingo. Stefani shared festive moments from inside their home, decorated with Easter bunnies and filled with fresh spring flowers arranged in vases.
Shelton has previously said gardening is one of their biggest bonding activities outside of music, admitting they sometimes go “way over the top” — even ordering boxes of seeds and experimenting with growing unusual plants. For him, working the land offers a peaceful escape from the spotlight and a chance to simply focus on family.
While Stefani appears to lead the charge creatively, Shelton is all in, helping haul plants and tend to their ever-expanding garden. With projects like their iris field and seasonal planting traditions, it’s clear the couple’s Oklahoma home has become more than just a retreat — it’s a place where their relationship continues to grow right alongside their garden.
