Lainey Wilson’s fans always bring their best Western style to her live shows, but at her recent Las Vegas concert, one young cowboy completely stole the spotlight.
During her latest run of performances, Wilson has made it a tradition to invite a young female fan onstage to be crowned “Cowgirl of the Night.” But at her T-Mobile Arena show on Sunday, Dec. 7, she added a twist—welcoming a second fan who instantly caught her attention.
As she scanned the audience, the Louisiana native spotted a boy dressed as someone incredibly special to her: her fiancé, Devlin “Duck” Hodges. Wearing blue jeans, a camo hat, a fake mustache, and a black long-sleeve shirt with “duck” printed across the chest, the young fan perfectly mimicked the former NFL player’s trademark look.
Wilson invited him onstage just as she launched into “Yesterday, All Day, Every Day,” her upbeat love song inspired by her relationship with Hodges. The track recounts the night they first met in 2021 at Nashville’s Silverado Dance Hall & Saloon after being introduced by a mutual friend.
Hand in hand with the young “Duck,” Wilson danced and twirled across the stage before gently guiding him back to the crowd and finishing the song solo. Laughing, she told the audience, “I’m marrying a man named Duck… y’all keep him in your prayers.”
“Yesterday, All Day, Every Day” appears on the expanded edition of her GRAMMY-winning album Whirlwind, released August 22. The deluxe version features five additional tracks, including “Bell Bottoms Up,” “King Ranch, King George, King James,” “Somewhere Over Laredo,” and “Peace, Love, and Cowboys.”
Wilson and the real “Duck” are currently deep in wedding planning after their February engagement, when Hodges proposed on the porch of the late George Jones’ estate in Franklin, Tennessee—an easy “yes” for the singer.
