Y106.5 - Today's Best Country

Jelly Roll’s first-ever tour of Australia has been full of unforgettable moments — screaming fans, sold-out shows, and now, one slightly awkward shopping story he won’t soon forget.

While the country-rap star has been soaking up the sights Down Under, one luxury store visit went sideways. In a lighthearted Instagram Story this week, Jelly Roll revealed that he felt profiled at a Louis Vuitton boutique in Sydney.

“Hey man, the Louis Vuitton in Sydney legitimately just treated us like we were finna come in and rob that place,” he told fans, chuckling as he walked away from the storefront. With his signature grin, he added, “I have never been looked at more like a crim — listen, the last time I was looked at like a criminal this bad, I was an actual criminal this bad.”

The moment, though awkward, didn’t seem to rattle the Nashville native. Instead, Jelly handled it with his usual humor and humility — a far cry from the person he used to be. After all, this is an artist who’s turned his life around completely, leaving behind a string of charges that began when he was just 14.

These days, Jelly Roll is not only touring internationally for the first time but doing so in style — and at nearly 200 pounds lighter, he’s almost unrecognizable from his early years in the rap scene.

Fans were quick to react online, many poking fun at the incident and even welcoming him to the country with a wink. “Welcome to Sydney!” one commenter joked, capturing the easygoing Aussie spirit.

The hiccup at Louis Vuitton aside, Jelly’s Australian adventure has been a massive success. He’s set to close out the tour with a final show at Country Bank Stadium in Townsville before heading across the Tasman Sea for his last stop in Auckland, New Zealand.

For Jelly Roll, moments like these are just another reminder of how far he’s come — from a past defined by trouble to a future filled with laughter, gratitude, and global stages. And if he ever feels out of place in a designer store again, at least he’ll have one hell of a story to tell.
