Keith Urban just let a little fire out on stage — and fans are convinced it’s all about his recent split from Nicole Kidman.
During a concert in Hershey, Pennsylvania, the country star was performing his 2002 breakup anthem “You’ll Think of Me” when he decided to make a few… let’s just say very pointed lyric changes.
Normally, the song goes:
“Take your memories, I don’t need ’em /
Take your space and take your reasons /
But you’ll think of me.”
But this time, Urban swapped out the polite heartbreak for something a lot more raw. He sang:
“Take your memories, I don’t need ’em /
Take your space and all your stupid bulls–t reasons.”
Then he added, “You shouldn’t have treated me this way.” Oof. That one hurt.
Fans on TikTok immediately picked up on the change, and the comment section blew up. “Nineteen years. Man’s got every right to be mad,” one person wrote. Another added, “I think he silently just told us what happened.” And honestly? They might be right.
News of Urban and Kidman’s separation broke on September 29, when TMZ reported the two had been living apart over the summer. The next day, Nicole filed for divorce in Tennessee, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
And if you thought that was the only lyric switch-up, think again. A few days before the breakup news dropped, Urban also changed the words to his hit duet with Carrie Underwood, “The Fighter.”
The line “When they’re tryna get to you, baby, I’ll be the fighter” turned into “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player” — a nod to guitarist Maggie Baugh, who happened to be performing with him that night (and has been at the center of some fan theories since).
Whether he’s just venting or sending a message, one thing’s clear: Keith isn’t holding back anymore.
His next tour stop is set for October 9 in Fort Worth, Texas — and fans will definitely be listening to every lyric a little closer this time.
