Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are getting ready for spring by rolling up their sleeves and diving into a new farming project at their Oklahoma ranch.

Shelton recently shared a glimpse of their plans on Instagram, showing off his “old” original orange Kubota tractor and a section of their property covered with plastic tarp as they prepare the ground for planting. The pair are turning part of their land into a working vegetable garden and plan to grow crops like sweet corn, tomatoes, peppers, squash and cucumbers.

“This year we decided we’re gonna do some actual, real professional gardening—farming-type stuff out here,” Shelton said in the video, jokingly introducing his partner. “Me and my wife… her name’s Gwen.”

Shelton said the work is already proving to be tough. He explained that the two of them spent time laying the plastic over the soil themselves to get everything ready for planting.

“We were out here putting this plastic out yesterday, just she and I, nobody else,” he said. “It sucked. It’s hard work, but we’re going to plant vegetables in here.”

Despite admitting he’s not much of a vegetable eater, Shelton seems excited about the project—especially because it’s something he and Stefani can do together. He even joked about one crop in particular.

“My stepdad used to always say cucumbers aren’t good for anything but a d— on the snowman,” Shelton laughed. “But we’re going to plant some anyway.”

The couple, who got married in July 2021, have embraced life on their Oklahoma property and share a growing passion for farming and working the land together. Shelton has even praised Stefani’s planting skills, while Stefani has often spoken about how much their life away from the spotlight means to her.

The farming venture is just another example of how the two have built a quiet life together on the ranch—one that, according to Shelton, is a lot more about tractors and vegetables than the rumors that sometimes pop up online.

Shelton recently brushed off speculation about trouble in their marriage, saying he doesn’t believe everything he reads on the internet. Instead, the couple continues focusing on their life together and the things they enjoy—like turning their Oklahoma land into a thriving garden.
