Apparently, the Nashville Police Department isn’t done releasing footage from Morgan Wallen’s now-infamous “chair-throwing” night. They recently released more footage of the now infamous night on Broadway in Nashville— and the newest batch of bodycam clips is pure country drama.
If you thought the first round of footage was something, just wait. This new video gives us even more moments from Wallen’s arrest, from song shout-outs from the back of the police cruiser en route to the station to a little mugshot prep session as he was being processed. “I ain’t done nothing wrong.”
Wallen repeats this line more than once, even though surveillance video reportedly shows him throwing a chair off a rooftop bar balcony — which, by the way, nearly hit two police officers standing 60 feet below. -
He’s not a Chris Young fan.
While chatting with the arresting officer about country music, Wallen made one request: “Please do not play any Chris Young. He’s terrible.” He quickly added that Hardy or Ernest would be better picks. (For the record, Ernest is one of his close friends and collaborators.) -
He’s worried about being a dad first.
Between jokes and small talk, Wallen’s tone got serious for a moment. “I got a little boy,” he told one of the officers. “Is this gonna affect my custody battle? I hope not — that’s all I care about in the world.” -
A song coincidence.
On the ride to the station, Wallen perked up when his duet with Thomas Rhett, “Mamaw’s House,” came on the radio. He grinned and said, “Thomas Rhett would never get arrested.” (Honestly, he’s probably right.) -
The mugshot makeover.
Remember his viral 2020 arrest photo? Wallen sure does. Before posing for this one, he asked the cops if his hair looked decent — and they actually handed him a comb. “How do I look, man?” he asked. “Should I smile this time? I’m a lot happier than I was then.”
The new footage doesn’t necessarily change anything about the case, but it does give fans (and critics) another peek at what was going through the “Last Night” singer’s head that evening.
And as for that Chris Young comment — let’s just chalk that up to one too many drinks.
