Luke Combs is shaking up the traditional album release process. On August 5th, the country superstar hinted at a new approach on social media, tweeting:
“Seriously considering ‘Crowd Sourcing’ my next record. Like just put up a bunch of demos and work tapes to see what y’all like best.”
Just days later, he made good on that idea by launching a new, low-key Instagram account under the handle @lcombs77. The bio reads:
“Crowdsourcing songs for my next album.”
The account features 14 unreleased acoustic demo tracks—each uploaded with a simple waveform visual and audio play option—giving fans a chance to preview the music and offer feedback. While Luke has been known to share snippets of new material in the past, none of these tracks have been teased before on any social platform.
The Demo Track List Includes:
-
A Man Was Born
-
Always Gonna Be
-
Fastback
-
Heaven, Tennessee
-
Hearts on the Window
-
I Used to Pray
-
Last Thing She Tried On
-
Let Your Heart Have a Mind of Its Own
-
Set the Record Straight
-
Some Bar
-
Shouldn’t Miss You Here
-
What Did You Do to Me?
-
Wild You Were
-
(Unlisted bonus track – not named officially)
Though unofficial, the Instagram drop essentially lets fans shape the direction of what could become Luke Combs’ 6th studio album. Music site Whiskey Riff even took the liberty of ranking the tracks, but the general consensus is that all 14 songs are strong contenders.
A Busy Summer, A New Strategy
This move follows a packed but unconventional summer for Combs. He performed at major festivals like Stagecoach and Lollapalooza, collaborated with Bailey Zimmerman on “Backup Plan,” and released a new single, “Back in the Saddle.” However, it’s still unclear whether that song will make the final album cut.
As fans explore the “secret” Instagram demos, one thing is clear: Luke Combs is pushing boundaries—not only in sound, but in how modern country music engages its audience.
Stay tuned, because if this first batch is anything to go by, there may be more demos coming soon—and country music is all the better for it.
