During a concert in Pittsburgh on Saturday, George Strait partnered with the Military Warriors Support Foundation to give Purple Heart recipient Sgt. Derek Austin a mortgage-free home. It’s just the latest in a long line of vets he’s helped; this was the 124th home Strait has gifted to wounded veterans. Right after receiving the keys, Austin surprised everyone by proposing to his girlfriend, Amy, on stage. She said yes, and the crowd cheered wildly. Strait, known for his support of veterans, made the moment extra special during his performance. Austin, a Marine Corps veteran, earned his Purple Heart for injuries sustained in combat.
