It looks like Riley Green has made a bold grooming move that’s sending ripples through his fanbase — the mustache is officially gone. The country singer took to social media on May 20 to reveal a freshly shaven upper lip, surprising fans with a clean-cut look that dramatically changes his appearance.
With a cheeky caption, “Never let them know your next move,” Green shared a post-barbershop selfie, casually donning a backwards cap and a knowing smile. The hashtag #shegone sealed the deal — the “she” being none other than The Conquistador, Green’s now-retired mustache.

This facial hair had become something of a trademark for Green since he first adopted it in 2021. It wasn’t just style — it was personality. He even joked last fall that his mustache helped him “hide a lot of emotions.” But now, with nothing to shield his expressions, it’s all poker face from here on out.

Interestingly, the timing is curious. Just recently, his duet partner Ella Langley claimed responsibility for keeping the ’stache around — at least through their Old Western-themed video shoot for “You Look Like You Love Me.” “You can thank me for Riley’s mustache,” she proudly told media earlier this month. Looks like his post-video rebellion came swiftly.

ans are already noting how much the change makes him resemble another country chart-topper — Morgan Wallen — which adds another layer of internet intrigue. But one thing’s for sure: whether mustachioed or not, Green won’t be disappearing anytime soon. With summer festival season underway, fans across the country will get to see the new look in person.
No doubt, it’ll take a little getting used to — but if there’s one thing country fans love, it’s a little unpredictability.
