It ain’t easy being Lainey Wilson. The singer was on stage in Wilmington, North Carolina recently when she spotted a sign being held up by a fan. Without really thinking it through, she started reading it out loud: “Lainey, you’re #1 on my list. My wife gave me a hall pass.” For the few of you not familiar with the term, a “hall pass” means that if this guy shoots his shot with Lainey and it lands, the wife is ok with it – but just with Lainey, thus the “hall pass.” Well, no worries on that count. Lainey laughed it off, saying “These signs y’all come up with. Y’all ain’t right.” And while the fan may have acquired his “hall pass,” we’re guessing Lainey’s boyfriend, former NFL player Duck Hodges, would not be as generous.
