Just imagine – you’re a bar band in Music City. Nashville, where everybody has a dream. You’re on the ground floor, playing small clubs and honing your chops, hoping to climb the ladder to country fame and fortune. And then your usual performance morphs into an audition in front of a country superstar – the same superstar whose song you are singing right then and there!
This scenario actually played out in Nashville recently. At the world-famous Tootsie’s on Broadway, the house band was playing their set when they launched into “Heart Like A Truck” by Lainey Wilson – and off to the side of the stage, an interested party walked up – Lainey herself! That’s enough to freak any performer out, but as Lainey grooved to the tune, the band never missed a beat. The crowd realized what was going on, and sang along as Lainey led them in song, drink in hand. Check out the amusing video to the below.
That moment when you’re on Broadway in Downtown Nashville and @laineywilson surprises some unsuspecting bar-goers while the band covers “Heart Like A Truck.” ❤️🛻 pic.twitter.com/iEb6IqFmjW
