“Something Real” is off his tenth album Gravel & Gold. I feel this song is going back to his roots a bit. This song really touches on what really matters in life. The moments and memories that are made.
Dierks said “It’s just my attempt to write a song that touches on things that are real to me. I’m sometimes guilty of writing songs that can check off some of the cliches we write about in country music, and I really feel like this one was an attempt to get into the good stuff.”
This song really just has you thinking about how the world is today. With social media, it’s easy to get lost and be on autopilot. In order to do that we need to put our phones down and take a break. Have a real conversation with someone. That’s why I love this song because it makes you think and want to do that.
