Jason Aldean was partying in Florida with friends at Blowing Rocks Marina in Tequesta, Florida in a place called Tiki 52 Bar & Grill and decided to hop on stage with a local musician and sing a few songs. He performed Brooks & Dunn’s “Neon Moon” with the local musician, Ricky Young and then covered the John Mellencamp song “Ain’t that America”
In an interview for Music Mayhem Young said “He was hanging with a bunch of mutual friends of me and my wife earlier in the day. During the show, I had someone requesting songs on my right side. I felt a tap on my shoulder on my left side and I turned around and it was Jason [Aldean]. He said ‘hey man, let’s play some Brooks and Dunn or something.’ I was like ‘let’s do it.’ So there was a full moon that night just above the tiki bar so I said we gotta do ‘Neon Moon.’ So that’s what we played together.” But Jason wasn’t done, “At the end the entire crowd as asking for another song and I gave him my guitar to do one by himself,” that’s when Aldean went into the Mellencamp cover.
