This Easter You Can Do a Virtual Easter Egg Hunt

By Kim Carr Apr 7, 2020 | 3:39 PM

If one of your favorite things to do around Easter is an egg hunt. Don’t let this year stop you. You can still have one with the help of technology. I know this is something we look forward to every year when we go visit family, and we are trying something new this year to show that we can still have all the fun just at a safe distance away.

Set a Time and Pace – Make a plan for your virtual egg hunt. Then send out evites with all the details to those that will be apart of it.

Have The Supplies At Home – Of course the best part is finding the eggs and then opening them and seeing what is inside. Make sure you have plastic eggs and treats to put inside that you can give to your kids or adults who find them. Also this would be a great time to fill them as well.

Test Run – If you are using Zoom, Facetime or Google Hang out to host your hunt. Make sure you do somewhat of a test run with everyone. This way there won’t be any hiccups during the event.

Hide The Eggs – If you will be the one that is hosting the hunt, go and hide the eggs in the area where it will be happening. If mother nature is working in our favor the backyard or front yard would be a great place.

Be the Leader – Once everyone is on for the event and logged in. Start to explore the area where the eggs are hidden. Go slowly with the camera facing away from you. When the kids start to call out an egg they see, get closer and show you are picking it up for them.

Count up the eggs and enjoy all the treats – After all the eggs are found. You can count them up for each person. Then the kids can open up the eggs at home that are already there for them to get their special treats.
